This mulch is made up of wood chips that are dyed black with all-natural vegetable based colourants. Coloured mulch will typically maintain its base colour for a minimum of three years.
Very similar to the Black Premium Mulch, this mulch is made from wood pieces and coloured red using an all-natural, vegetable-based dye that gives a striking, red color. Coloured mulch should maintain its base red colour for at least three years. Remember, you can always top up your mulch each season with a pickup or delivery from Soil Kings.
Parkland Premium Plus™ is made of pine & spruce bark (similar to our original, natural pine & spruce bark mulch), but Parkland Premium Plus™ is ground finer and has smaller pieces overall. A very clean mulch, mostly brown in colour, Parkland Premium Plus™ has less fines than other shredded bark mulches. This mulch is very effective at retaining soil moisture and insulating your plants.

This basic garden mix adds compost to our screened topsoil product. After mixing, we then screen the soil again, creating a double-screened, fertilized soil that is rich in nutrients. The name comes from the composition: 70% screened loam, 30% compost. We use our quality, aged compost which is extremely rich in nutrients.
Note that all of our topsoil (used in our mixes) was originally farmer’s field topsoil and therefore can have small stones which can pass through our screening process. These small stones do not detract in any way from the quality of the soil or the ability for your plants to grow, but it does mean this mix is better used for planting INTO, rather than top-dressing a lawn, for example.

Worm castings (or worm compost) has been called, “nature’s perfect plant food.” This all-natural, organic soil amendment has 10 times the nutrients of regular compost, including 5 times the nitrate, 7 times the phosphorous, and 3 times the magnesium.
Worm castings should be used in a ratio of 1 part castings to 4 parts soil and will not burn even the most delicate plants. They add moisture retaining capability to soil because they hold 2-3 times their weight in water. Worm castings also aid in soil aeration and provide beneficial enzymes and microbes to the soil. Worm castings can be used to top dress lawns, trees, shrubs, or house plants. It can also be sprinkled into vegetable or flower planting rows before planting.
