A very small, naturally rounded rock better known to most people as pea gravel. This is a genuinely hard to find product, a true round washed rock in the 7-10mm range rather than the crushed, angular gravel most yards end up with.
Unlike crushed rock, which is created by breaking down larger stone, pea gravel forms naturally as water rounds and smooths each piece over time. That rounded shape is what makes it comfortable to walk on and easy to rake or shift by hand, while the washed finish means the rock arrives clean, free of dust and fine debris that can cloud drainage or stick to shoes and paws.
Because the stones are small and rounded rather than angular, this rock shines in detailed landscaping work where a finer finish matters more than heavy interlock. It fills the gaps between stepping stones and pavers, lines garden beds around perennials and shrubs, and gives narrow paths and walkways a soft, natural look underfoot. It also works well as a decorative top dressing over planters, around fire pits, or along the base of a fence where grass will not grow.
